New cabling concepts from Daetwyler Cables
In data centres the connection of hardware and connections between IT cabinets are frequently effected using numerous individual cables and false floors. The power supply follows a similar principle. However, such cabling systems resemble a permanent installation. Any restructuring or expansion is associated with high planning, material and labour costs. In addition, the many cables in the false floor can also be incompatible with the air or water cooling in air-conditioned data centres.
In many server rooms and data centres, therefore, copper and fibre-optic cables are now laid in cable runs and trays above the racks. Cable bundles (trunks) from Daetwyler Cables, cut to length, labelled and preassembled with connectors at the factory, permit simpler, neater and extremely flexible installations. Daetwyler also offers a cable support system, patch panels and junction point housings, plus a wide selection of network and server cabinets.
The above advantages can also be realised for power cabling (normal network and UPS): Flat cable safety systems laid in the cable trays permit a comprehensive and very economical power supply to the IT cabinets. The power supply to the flat-cable safety systems, on the other hand, uses halogen-free pyrofil® safety cables.
