The solution for your high-speed fibre-optic cabling
Fibre-optic cabling in data centres must first and foremost fulfil the following requirements: extremely high transmission rates, low cable volume, great flexibility and high connection component packing density.
Even today the Ethernet protocol with a data rate of 10 Gbit/s is used in server rooms and data centres, so fibre-optic cables (FO cables) with OM3 fibres are a must. With these fibres 10 Gbit/s can be transmitted over a distance of at least 300 m at a wavelength of 850 nm. Daetwyler Cables also supply fibres with even higher bandwidths, measured using the minEMBc method. Distances of up to 550 m are possible with these.
Our optoversal® cables with up to 144 fibres are of very compact construction. These FO cables are divided by means of a two-stage divider concept into single-fibre elements, which are factory-fitted with the LC connector recommended in the data centre cabling standard EN50173-5. Using this miniaturised Small Form Factor connector, 48 fibres can be connected in one height unit. The pre-assembled FO cable is inserted by means of a tool-free fastening in 19" drawers with telescopic extensions. For even more compact solutions Daetwyler Cables offers the multi-fibre MPO connector. This has the advantage of rapid plug-and-play capability. With MPO, preassembled optoversal® cables can easily be plugged into the pre-assembled cartridges. The LCD interface is now once again available for patching.
Optical fibres with pre-assembled plug-and-socket connectors give you the lowest insertion losses and thus the highest transmission quality. We achieve these optimal values by assembly under defined, i.e. almost laboratory conditions. Your proof comes in the form of the loss measurement certificates supplied with all our pre-assembled FO trunks and MPO-LCD cartridges.
Our data centre cabling solutions mean that you are also prepared in the best possible way for future transmission rates such as 40 and 100 Gbit/s.
