Norms are not good enough for us
In the development phase of every product, Daetwyler Cables defines quality specifications that go beyond the usual norms and standards. In addition to general quality-control inspections, our products undergo application-specific testing. With the help of qualified specialists, Daetwyler Cables developed a series of sophisticated test machines for this purpose. We use these to measure every type of cable and every system component against our own rigorous quality specifications. In this way we make sure that the products of Daetwyler Cables will fulfil their functions even under the harshest service conditions.
Dätwyler Cables– Milestones
| 1915 | Adolf Dätwyler founded the company and began producing electrical conductors using aluminium. |
| 1926 | The production of telephone cables began. |
| 1944 | The production of high-frequency cables began. |
| 1973 | Kaved Ltd. was acquired. The value chain was extended by adding cable harnessing. Daetwyler produced the first flat cable for lifts with up to 400 metre shaft height. |
| 1986 | The production of fibre optic cables began. |
| 1987 | uninet® data cable and the future-proof concept for structured building cabling were introduced. |
| 1991 | Pyrofil® safety cable became the first cable in the world to successfully pass E90 testing as per DIN 4102-12. |
| 1998 | International expansion: Daetwyler entered the Chinese market. |
| 2002 | optofil® Safety became the first metal-free fibre optic cable with E30 functional integrity as per DIN 4102-12. |
| 2004 | Daetwyler Cables presented FloorLink, the economical cabling system for elevator shafts. |
| 2005 | Daetwyler significantly expands its international distribution network in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. |
