| The modern installation of buildings goes
together with a modern technique so that all the requirements of today
will be met.
The current trend:
facilities for an optimal area planning and utilization (restructuring or
further extension of the electrical installation), intelligent links
between logically dependent applications (e.g. lighting and adjusting the
louvres according to the luminosity) as well as communication facilities.
Installing a bus system is the answer to all these requirements.
A bus system consists of sensors (e.g.switches) and actuators connected to
one another via a bus cable. The actuators control the connected devices.
Every bus connection has got its own intelligence and is separately
programmed. In contrast with usal installaton techniques, sensors and
actuators are here located at different places, i.e. actuators are
integrated close to the devices to be switched on and off and are not
anymore used as switching contacts at the sensor. The control cammnds from
sensor to actuator are transmitted via the additional bus line.
The advantage of this type of installation is its
versatility:
the actuator may fulfil various functions (e.g. switching on/off, dimming,
moving blinds up and down, acting as indicating or signal elements,
supervising etc...) and the installation may be easily and rapidly
modified and extended. This is due to the fact that every bus connection
is freely programmable; the function of each is assigned via software. In
contrast with an usual stored program system with central intelligence,
the bus installation shows a local intelligence for each bus connection. |
