Fibre to the desk with pre-assembled fibre-optic components. The safe and time-saving solution.
The principal items of the optomodPLUS system are the fibre optic cables of the optomod and optodesk family. The cables are pre-assembled at the factory according to customer preference, with connection pieces already assembled and delivered with suitable couplers. In addition there are a variety of outlets and patch panels for the main and floor distribution. For the Outdoor area and for backbone cabling (primary and secondary area) the universal Indoor / Outdoor cable Optoversal is recommended. It is designed with metal-free rodent protection, with expandable tape for water resistance as well as a Flame retardant, Zero halogen cable sheath with reduced fire propagation. For the cabling on the floor to each desk the Optomod cable is particularly suitable. On customer preference the Optomod cables can be pre-assembled with various connector systems (ST, SC, SC-Duplex, FC/PC).

Many factors highlight the benefits of pre-assembling the fibre optic cables with connectors:
The FO-cabling can be done economically and quickly, without the help of a special tool. The quality standards can be guaranteed thanks to processing at the factory. During on-site assembly, this can only be achieved with splices or the connector assembly. The cables can be cut into the desired lengths and the individual fibres can be stuck together in a dust and stress-free environment with the connecting pieces, the ferrules. After hardening, which takes place without damaging heating, the overlaying fibre is automatically polished by machine, in order to ensure a very small attenuation with the socket connection. The pre-assembled endings are provided with a protective sleeve. The cables are delivered with an attenuation test report. Thus we ensure a long life time and a high investment protection for 15 years.

9 advantages of a tailor made cable at a glance:
  • The high or low fibre count fibre optic cables are already pre-assembled in the factory with connectors or connector/coupling systems by computer-controlled machines.
  • No manual, time-consuming, construction site processing necessary, i.e. dust and stress-free environment, no damage by heating, optimal cross section and minimum attenuation values.
  • Additional computer testing after manufacturing for a high quality assurance.
  • Time-saving local installation, thereby reducing costs.
  • Compact and economic solution which can be easily expanded or enhanced.
  • Safe and clean connection.
  • Secure, defined, given optical values.
  • Standardised cabling.
  • Long link lengths possible (up to 2.0 km).
